Our approach to ecosystem engagement is through a Triple Helix Model for AbAMI Hub Innovation and Partnership. Through this approach and model, we foster innovation in manufacturing through interactions among three stakeholder groups: postsecondary institutions, industry, and government.
Postsecondary institutions in the AbAMI Hub create knowledge in manufacturing, generate human capital through training, and connect research to industry needs. Industry members and partners in the Hub bring manufacturing innovations to market and incorporate them in new and existing products. Government collaborators in the AbAMI Hub set policies, provide strategic advice and funding for research, and establish the regulatory environment for innovation, startup creation, and business scale-up in advanced manufacturing in Alberta.
The overlap of these three helices within the AbAMI Hub ecosystem creates collaboration in manufacturing research, technology deployment and integration, and workforce development of human capital.
