Dr. Hongbo Zeng

Dr. Hongbo Zeng is a Professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the University of Alberta and serves as the Director of the Centre for Energy and Mineral Processing (CEMP). He holds a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Intermolecular Forces and Interfacial Science. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from Tsinghua University and his Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara. His research mainly focuses on colloid and interface science, with particular emphasis on intermolecular and surface interactions in soft materials and complex engineering processes (e.g., oil production and mineral processing).
