Workforce Development
Training programs or skills development initiatives.
The AbAMI Hub’s workforce development pillar is designed in close collaboration with industry sector organizations, trade unions, and professional networks to ensure that the training aligns directly with meets the needs of Alberta’s manufacturing sector. Programs combine management-focused workshops with hands-on technical upskilling on real equipment and industry tools, creating a balance between operational excellence and practical experience.
Core Training
Workshops cover LEAN basics, workplace organization, process mapping, and LEAN for Leaders, giving industry practitioners the tools to improve efficiency, productivity, and operational performance. Technical training complements these sessions, building skills in prototyping, testing, and technology readiness assessments for deployment.
Advanced Skills for Industry 4.0
As Alberta manufacturers increasingly integrate advanced and digital technologies, the AbAMI Hub delivers specialized training in AI-enabled controls, distributed sensing, health monitoring, and autonomous systems. New programming on digital transformation and Industry 4.0 integration focuses on applied skills such as data-driven decision making, smart factory implementation, and AI-enabled automation, tailored specifically for Alberta industry practitioners.
Recognized Credentials
To ensure credibility and recognition, workforce programming will include credential options such as certificates of completion and professional development hours. Certificates and continuing professional development (CPD) credits, led by ASM International and other partners, strengthen the value of these programs for participants and employers.
